COVID-19: Africa records 15,858 infections as Nigeria jump 20 cases to 343

Nigeria has recorded 20 new cases of Coronavirus (COVID-19), bringing the total number of infected persons in Nigeria to 343.

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) said in its Twitter handle on Monday night that out of the number of infection at 343, 91 have been discharged while a total of 10 deaths has been recorded.

According to the Tweet by NCDC, “Twenty new cases of #COVID19 have been reported as follows:13 in Lagos, 2 in Edo, 2 in Kano, 2 in Ogun (and) 1 in Ondo. As at 09:50 pm 13th April there are 343 confirmed cases of #COVID19 reported in Nigeria. 91 have been discharged with 10 deaths.

This brings to 19 the number of States with the COVID-19 cases.

With the new figure, the breakthrough for the States show that currently, Lagos State has 189, FCT- 56, Osun- 20, Edo- 14, Oyo- 11, Ogun- 9, Bauchi- 6, Kaduna- 6, Akwa Ibom- 5, Katsina-5, Kwara- 4, Ondo- 3, Delta- 3, Kano- 3, Enugu- 2, Ekiti- 2, Rivers-2, Benue- 1, Niger- 1, Anambra- 1.

The new figure of COVID-19 infections in the world is now 1,917,272. The total number of deaths is 119,019 while the number recovered and discharged is 441,235

In Africa, the total number of infections is 15,858, with a recorded 837 deaths while 3,027 were discharged.
