The Rivers State Police Command on Friday arrested members of a vigilante group popularly known as ‘Diobu OSPAC’ over alleged kidnap of a 21-year old woman and her two brothers.

The female victim also accused the vigilante members of rape while she was in their custody.

Global Upfront Newspapers (GUN) gathered that the leaders of the vigilante group were detained at the station after they honoured Police invitation. following compliant made by Miss Precious, a 21-year old lady and two of her brothers (Jesse and David, surname withheld) to Nkpolu Divisional Police Headquarters on their alleged abduction from their house on April 11, 2020 at Mile 3 axis of Port Harcourt. They were allegedly abducted by members of the vigilante and subsequently detention at the office of the vigilante group. They were then invited by the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) of the Nkpolu station and detained.

Miss Precious stated that upon arrival to the office of the vigilante group, she was stripped naked and placed in a separate room from her brothers.

She explained that she was admitted in the hospital for four days after the vigilante group released them from their detention.

She further revealed that the vigilante personnel reportedly told her brothers that it is their father who reported them to the group that they stole his money and are also disrespectful to him.

The Rivers State Police Command has also confirmed the incident with the State Police Public Relations Officer, Mr Nnamdi Omoni saying that the Commissioner of Police has ordered that the matter be transferred to State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department (SCIID) while investigation continues.
