A well known Knight, Sir T. C. Okere, on Monday morning allegedly stabbed his wife to death and ended his 50 year old marriage to the woman.
Okere, a former Director-General of the Imo Broadcasting Corporation (IBC) is said to be on the run from Police.
He allegedly killed the late wife in Imerienwe community, Ngor-Okpala Local Government Area of Imo State and threw the community into shock, grief and panic.
Both the suspect and the deceased (wife) are said to be retirees as the murdered woman retired from the Imo State Polytechnic, Umuagwo.
The Imo State Police Command confirmed that Okere was on the run.
The Command’s Spokesperson, Mr Godson Orlando, also disclosed that the Commad would swing into action to unravel the entire unfortunate incident.
Said SP Ikeokwu, “It is true that the former Director-General of the state-owned broadcasting corporation TC Okere allegedly stabbed the wife to death this morning and the Command will soon commence an investigation into the matter.”
