GEN. UGWUOKE CHARGES OBOLLO COMMUNITY ON SECURITY

……inaugurates development Committees.
……Obollo Community rejects Trail Park.

President General of umbrella body of Obollo Community in Udenu local Government Area of Enugu state, Obollo General Assembly, OGA, Major General Godwin Ugwuoke rtd has charged leaders and people of Obollo to be more security conscious and brace up for the emerging security challenges.

General Ugwuoke spoke friday night after the formal inauguration of various development committees set up by the community to reset the town in the path of development.

According to the retired General, the perilous times in our country now entails that proactive steps should be taken by every Obollo person to avert any embarrassing security breach in our town.

He said that Obollo being a gate way to the North puts her in a precarious position that requires absolute vigilance and proper sensitization of our people on how to cope in a time like this.

The OGA leader announced that a standing security Committee will be set up urgently by the community to help monitor developments in conjunction with relevant security bodies like the Police, Civil Defence, the DSS and the Vigilant groups as well as the Forest Guards.

In inaugurating the Committees, General Ugwuoke charged them to put all their intellects on the job as the proposed new Obollo will be anchored on the outcome of their reports.

He gave the Committees 90 days timeline and promised to set up a Secretariat in Obollo Afor for effective monitoring and coordination of the activities of the Committees.

The inauguration of the committee preceded general meeting of Obollo leaders were a number of far reaching decisions were agreed on like the rejection of the proposed Obollo Afor Trail Park as against the Dry- Seaport which informed the community donating the land.

The meeting directed the President of OGA to write and inform Federal Ministry of Transportation of the development which arose due to their deliberate breach of the original agreement that informed the land donation.
Below are names of Chairmen and members of the inaugurated committees which was directed at the Obollo Town Hall meeting at Obollo Etiti Civic Center on Easter Monday April 5, 2021. The town-hall meeting was convened by an Abuja based body, Obollo Development Association., ODA.
