Shekau served as deputy leader to the Boko Haram terrorists’ group’s founder, Mohammed Yusuf, until Yusuf was executed in 2009.

Eons Intelligence, which prides itself as “your one-stop destination for intelligence and factual news coverage,” had yesterday night reported via a tweet that the terrorist leader might have been killed as the Islamic State in West Africa Province (ISWAP) terrorists invaded his base in Sambisa Forest.

In March 2015, Shekau pledged allegiance to then ISIL leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi..
