Bandits kill 7 in Kaduna State

Bandits have resumed their killing spree in Kaduna State, killing seven people in the last 72 hours in Chikun, Kajuru and Giwa Local Government Areas of the State.

Kaduna State Commissioner for Internal Security and Home Affairs, Mr Samuel Aruwan, said in a statement on Saturday the bandits shot four people at the outskirts of Tsohon Gayan general area of Chikun LGA.

Also, Mr Aruwan said that two people identified as Solomon Bamaiyi and Francis Moses from Kakau village of the same LGA were killed while another unidentified person from Kachia was also killed.

He said one Danjuma Alhaji, a native of Tsohon Farakwai of Igabi LGA was similarly killed by bandits at the outskirts of Galadima General Area of Giwa LGA.

Aruwan said that Governor Nasir El-Rufai has sent condolences to their families and prayed for the repose of their souls.

Aruwan said security agencies have carried out confidence building visit to Iri Station, where some citizens were killed and an unspecified number of people kidnapped.
