Terrorists abduct 80-year old Kaduna traditional ruler, 60 travelers along Gusau-Sokoto Highway

Terrorists continued their violence and kidnapping in Northern Nigeria, abducting Gyet Maude, the 1st Class traditional ruler of Jaba Chiefdom, Jaba Local Government Area of Kaduna State.

Brother to the monarch, Anthony Maude, who confirmed the development, said that His Royal Highness was kidnapped on his farm located at Gitata community, Nasarawa State. The community is located on the boundary between Kaduna and Nasarawa States.

Neither the Nigeria Police, nor the Kaduna State government was ready to speak on the development or confirm if the royal father went to the farm alone or was accompanied by his security details.

This came just as bandits attacked Sokoto Mass Transit buses, kidnapping over 60 travelers along the –Gusau-Sokoto highway.

They also killed two other travelers in another location.

Sources at the Sokoto Mass Transit confirmed that one of their buses was attacked by the terrorists as they blocked the highway on Sunday Morning.

The terrorists were wielding sophisticated weapons. And by the time they left the blocked highway, they had kidnapped over 60 travelers and led them into the bush.

Meanwhile, local residents also said that another set of terrorists blocked the Wurno-Goronyo road around 5:00 pm on Sunday, killing two people and abducting others.

Chairman of Wurno Local Government Area, Abubakar Arzika, who confirmed the attack on Wurno-Goronyo road, said that two people, including a lady, were killed and that Police were still investigating the matter.

The Sokoto State Police Command is yet to speak on the incident.
