Police kill bandits’ leader in Niger State as bandits abduct nurse, caregiver in Dansadau govt hospital, Zamfara State

The Nigeria Police have killed have killed a notorious bandits’ commander, Buyo Yetti, popularly known as Yellow Burguje, in Niger State.

Sources said that Buyo Yetti was killed during a shootout between the bandits’s group and the Mobile Police unit of Puff Adder, in Jaliwai village of Rafi Local Government Area (LGA), Niger State.

The source noted that Yellow Burguje, who had led several attacks on communities where residents were killed, kidnapped and cattle rustled, was born grew up in Zungeru, Wushishi LGA of Niger State.

Earlier on Wednesday, another notorious bandits’ leader, Bello Galadima, was arrested on Wednesday by security operatives in Sokoto State.

And on Friday, bandits invaded General Hospital, Dansadau, Maru LGA of Zamfara State, abducting a nurse and caregiver.

Sources said that immediately the terrorizing bandits invaded the General Hospital, they headed straight to the Outpatient Ward, hoping to find a Doctor or Nurse to kidnap.

When they could not find any there, they started moving from one ward to another where they found a nurse and a caregiver and abducted them.

After searching the wards, they then moved to the General Hospital staff quarters looking for doctors and nurses but could not find any.

It was learnt that the bandits had earlier attempted to attack Maigoge, a community located six kilometres north of Dansadau town.

However, when they laid siege to the community, they were met with heavy resistance from the vigilantes who killed some of the bandits while others sustained injuries.
