More private jets landed for Yusuf Buhari’s wedding than Prince Harry’s, says Reno Omokri

Reno Omokri, a former aide of ex-President Goodluck Jonathan, has claimed that more private jets landed in Kano for the wedding of President Muhammadu Buhari’s son than in London when Prince Harry got married.

Prince Harry of the British royal family got married to Meghan Markle, an American, in 2018.

However, following some controversies, the couple renounced their title and withdrew from royalty.

In a post he made on his verified Facebook account, Omokri said the wedding of Buhari’s son has shown that Nigerians are poor but the  country is not.

He said the country is poorly managed such that Nigerian presidential convoy is larger than the convoys of the countries Nigeria borrow from.

“Nigeria has no national airline. Yet, news reports have it that 100 private jets landed in Kano for Buhari’s son’s wedding. That is more private jets than landed in London for Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s wedding.”

“And then millions of Almajiri are watching. They have not eaten a decent meal in 100 days, only to see 100 private jets land in a country that is the world headquarters for extreme poverty.”

He added, that it is why terror thrives in Nigeria

Omokri, a Nigerian human rights activist and lawyer, is one of the critics of Buhari.

As against 100 private jets cited by Omokri, a Daily Trust Reporter counted at least 20 jets at the Aminu Kano International Airport in Kano.
