Police arrest bandits’ gun-runner with 53 AK-47 guns, live ammunition in Nasarawa State, Northcentral Nigeria

The Nasarawa State Command of the Nigeria Police Force has arrested a gun runner who was conveying 53 AK-47 Magazine Guns and 260 rounds of live ammunition to an unknown destination in the State.

The gun runner, one Likita Abubakar, was identified as a 35-year old Fulani man.

The Police Public Relations Officer of the Command, ASP Ramhan Nansel, confirmed that the suspect was arrested in Akwanga Local Government Area of the State.

According to a source, “a joint patrol team of Police and FRSC have intercepted a Fulani man by the name Nikita, with 52 Magazines and over 200 live ammunition at Alushi junction in Akwanga, Nasarawa State.

“Other members of his gang are already on their way on motorcycles also to Jos at the moment, says Likita.

“Likita is at the moment at Akwanga police Divisional headquarters. Nasarawa State.”
