Nigeria: Aisha Buhari is back, taunts Minister of Communication and Digital Economy, Dr Ali Isa Pantami

Nigeria’s First Lady Aisha Buhari is back, well back to the Social Media, and attacking the Minister of Communication and Digital Economy, Dr Ali Isa Pantami.

The Furst Lady had used the Social Media to vent her frustrations on the issues of governance or personal grievances on Presidential aides or even her husband, President Muhammadu Buhari.

This time, in an Instagram post on Sunday, the First Lady shared a video showing Dr Pantami shedding tears during one of his sermons.

The Minister burst into tears after his reciter read a verse of the Holy Quran.

“That is the Garden we shall give as their own to those of Our servants who were devout,” read the reciter from Surah Maryam, Verse 63.

In response, Pantami sobbed, “O Allah! Make me one of them. O Allah! Make me one of them!”

The First Lady, who posted the video, attached a short Hausa sentence to it.

“A chire tsoro a yi abinda ya dace”, which can be interpreted as “Be courageous to do the right thing.”

It is yet clear why the President’s wife posted the video but it is currently generating attention on Social Media.

Aisha Buhari put up the post three weeks after Pantami had joined Yusuf, her son with Zahra Bayero in marriage at Bichi Central Mosque in Kano.

The wedding was a classic display of opulence and ostentatious lifestyle by Nigeria’s ruling class.
