Unknown terror bandits have set free scores of prisoners from the Medium Federal Correctional Centre in Kabba, Kabba/Bunu Local Government Area of Kogi State, Northcentral Nigeria.

Sources confirmed that the bandits invaded the prison located along the Kabba–Lokoja highway on Sunday night and operated through Monday morning, killing the military men who manned a checkpoint on the highway, before setting the prisoners free and aiding their escape.

The source said that they first launched attack on the prison officers before making ways to set all the prisoners free.
