Terror Bandits kill two, abduct teacher in Kaduna, woman, 2 children in Omu-Aran, Kwara State

Terrorists and bandits have killed two persons and abducted an Arabic and Islamic studies teacher in Kuregu community in Zaria Local Government of Kaduna State, Northwest Nigeria.

The terror bandits also abducted a woman and her children on Friday in Omu-Aran, Irepodun Local Government of Kwara State.

Sources said that the terror bandits stormed the Kuregu community around 10:pm on Friday.

The bandits had on January 19, 2021 abducted Professor Aliyu Mohammed of Abubakar Tafawa University Department of Agriculture, Bauchi, Bauchi State who live close to the community. Ransom was paid before Professor Mohammed regained his freedom.

A resident of Kuregu community said the terror bandits originally came and were asking for the houses of wealthy individuals in the community when they came across the victims and shot them before abducting an Islamic studies teacher in the community.

On the attack on Friday in Omu-Aran, Irepodun Local Government of Kwara State where they abducted a woman and her two children, sources said the abductors stormed the premises of a filling station situated at Oko junction, shooting sporadically into the air before they whisked away the victims.

Sources said that the woman is the wife of the owner of the filing station who has a shop around the area.

According to him, “the incident occurred around 7pm and stray bullets from the gunshots hit two commercial motorcycle riders in the process.

“But they were rushed to the hospital in Omu-Aran and we learnt they are recuperating.”

It could not be established yet if the family had been contacted for any ransom payment by the kidnappers.

When contacted, the spokesperson of the Kwara State Police Command, Ajayi Okasanmi said he was yet to be briefed.

“I am not aware of the incident, but I will get back to you as soon as I am officially briefed of the development”, Okasanmi added.
