Nigeria: Southern Kaduna boils again, “many” killed, houses destroyed as terrorists, bandits invade area

At least 30 persons have been killed and many houses burnt down in Madamai and Abun villages, Kaura Local Government Area of Kaduna State, Northwest Nigeria.

Former Coordinator, Kaura Youth Coalition, Comrade Derek Christopher, who confirmed the killings and destruction, said the terrorists and bandits invaded the communities around 5pm on Sunday and started shooting sporadically.

Christopher said that some of the injured “were taken to the hospital for treatment.”

Sources said that the attackers were the terrorists and bandits who were recently deployed to the area by the Boko Haram/Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP) leadership in Northeast Nigeria.

Attempts to reach the Kaduna State Police Public Relations Officer, ASP Muhammed Jalige, for comment was to no avail, as his number was not reachable at the time of filing this report.
