Nigeria: Five Mobile Police personnel killed by terrorists, houses burnt in fresh attack in Pangu, Niger State

Terrorists invaded Pangu community, Rafi Local Government Area of Niger State, Northcentral Nigeria, killing five policemen from the Mobile elite unit of the Force.

The terrorists also burnt the only Primary Cealth Care Centre serving the community, including two vehicles belonging to the Policemen.

Sources said that the terrorists had invaded the town on Tuesday on motorcycles, shooting sporadically and continuously as residents scampered to safety.

The source noted that the terrorists attacked the policemen after they tried to stop them, which led to their death.

Already, their bodies have been deposited at the IBB Specialist Hospital mortuary.

The Niger State Commissioner for Information, Mohammed Idris, while fielding questions from journalists, refused to confirm or deny the attack.

He said, “There have been attacks here and there.”

Also, the state Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Wasiu Abiodun, could not be reached for confirmation of the attack and death of the policemen.
