2 under arrest for supplying foodstuff to terrorists, bandits in Abuja, says Police

The Nigeria Police in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) says it has arrested two people conveying foodstuff towards Kuje, Kuje Area Council, in a vehicle accusing them of supplying bandits as they refused to disclose their destination.

Following the ongoing operations against terrorists and bandits in the Northwest region of the country, some fleeing bandits were setting up camps in some communities in some FCT Area Councils especially Kuje.

Some residents of the area have repeatedly confirmed that the terror bandits often forced people to buy food items for them and not to report their location to security operatives.

In a statement, the FCT Police Spokesperson, DSP Adeh Josephine, said a vehicle conveying foodstuff and other items to an unknown area in Kuje Area Council was impounded.

The statement reads in part: “Such movement of foodstuff and some other logistics are being monitored by the command, especially following reports of activities of kidnappers in Kuje axis.”

DSP Josephine asked FCT residents to report all suspicious movements, emergencies and distresses to the command through 08032003913, 08061581938, 07057337653 and 08028940883.
