Nigeria: Terror bandits raid Sokoto Goronyo weekly market, kill traders

After invading the weekly market at Unguwan Lalle in Sabon Birni Local Government Area (LGA) of Sokoto State and killing at least 19 traders penultimate Friday, the bandits raided another market in the eastern part of Sokoto State on Sunday, killing many.

Though details of the raid are still sketchy, sources said the bandits invaded Goronyo weekly Market in Goronyo Local Government Area of the State, killing traders and buyers.

Penultimate Friday, terror bandits invaded the weekly market at Unguwan Lalle in Sabon Birni Local Government Area (LGA) of the same Sokoto State, killing at least 19 traders.

The survivors of the dastardly attack were treated at the General Hospital, Sabon Birni.

The Unguwan Lalle market, which is popular in the Eastern part of Sokoto State, is patronised by traders from different parts of the State including adjacent States like Zamfara, Kebbi and neighbouring Niger Republic.

Sources said that the bandits operated for several hours unchallenged on Sunday.
