‘Unknown Gunmen’ attack Ohaukwu, Ebonyi State Police Station, free detainees, set vehicles ablaze

Some ‘Unknown Gunmen’ in the early hours of Monday morning invaded the Ohaukwu Divisional Police Station in Ebonyi State, South East Nigeria, freed the detainees and set the station ablaze.

Sources said that the gunmen arrived the station in the early hours of Monday morning, shooting sporadically in the air and scaring away onlookers and Policemen on guard duties.

They then freed over 40 suspects held in the Police cells, setting some vehicles ablaze.

They then fled the the scene. 

The Ebonyi State Police Command is yet to react to the development as its Spokesperson, DSP Loveth Odah, was yet to respond to calls and messages.
