Nigerian Air Force (NAF) fighter jets have eliminated scores of Boko Haram/Islamic State in West africa Province (ISWAP) terrorists who invaded Katarko village, in Gujba Local Government Area of Yobe State, Northeast Nigeria.
Katarko village, which is about 20 kilometers from Damaturu, the Yobe State capital, had previously suffered from severe Boko Haram attacks.
The terrorists invaded the community in about 10 gun trucks in the early hours of Saturday but were stopped by the aggressive airstrikes of the Air Task Force of Operation Hadin Kai supported by ground troops.
According to a source, “suspected ISWAP terrorists on six gun trucks, earlier this morning, attacked Katarko Village, in Gujba local government of Yobe State. However, troops of Sector 2, and the Air Task Force of Operation Hadin Kai, however, repelled the attack. The actual number of the ISWAP fighters killed by the air interdictions, however, cannot be ascertained at the moment.”
