Defence Minister, CDS, Service Chiefs in Maiduguri to assess war against Boko haram/ISWAP terrorism

Minister of Defence Major General Bashir Salihu Magashi (rtd), is in Maiduguri, the Borno State capital along with the Chief of Defence Staff and Service Chiefs to to assess ongoing counter-insurgemcy operations against Boko Haram/Islamic State in West Africa province (ISWAP) terrorists in the Northeast Niigeria theatre of war.

Along with the Minister include the Chief of Defence Staff (General Lucky Irabor), Chief of Army Staff (Lieutenant General Faruk Yahya), Chief of Air Staff (Air Marshal Isiaka Amao and Chief of Naval Staff,  Vice Admiral Awwal Gambo.

On arrival, the military leaders headed to the Maimalari Cantonment, Maiduguri, headquarters of the Theatre Command of the Joint Task Force “Operation Hadin Kai,” Major General Christopher Musa.

Also at the meeting are all the field Commanders in the Northeast area of operation.
