Siege on Abuja continues as terror bandits storm secondary school staff quarters, abduct Vice Principal

There is ongoing siege on the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Abuja as terror bandits invaded the Junior Secondary School (JSS), Yebu in Kwali Area Council of the territory, abducting Mohammed Nuhu, the Vice Principal.

This happened a day after the terrorists invaded the staff quarters of University of Abuja, abducting two Professors and children.

It is also coming few days after the Chief Imam of Yabgoji Central Mosque, Abubakar Abdullahi Gbedako, who is also the Vice Principal of Junior Secondary School, Kwaita, still in Kwali Area Council of Abuja, was abducted.

A teacher, who was an eyewitness said the kidnappers invaded the staff quarters, wielding sophisticated weapons. The teacher added that while of the abductors surrounded the quarters, others scaled the fence into the compound from where they broke into the Vice Principal’s apartment and whisked him away.

The kidnappers, he said, had earlier tied down the security guard manning the gate before they forced the victim’s door open.

“In fact, even some teachers that are staying inside the quarters could not be able to come out because of the sporadic gun shots” he said.

The incident happened on Saturday night.

Chairman of the FCT wing of Nigeria Union Teachers (NUT), Comrade Stephen Knabayi, confirmed the abduction of the Vice Principal, saying that the union had written several mails to the FCT Administration and some Area Council chairmen to complain over incessant abduction of its members.

When contacted, spokesperson of the FCT police command, DSP Adeh Josephine, said she is currently in a meeting, promising to call back.
