Nigeria: ISWAP terrorists abduct 3 brothers of Emir of Askira Uba, Borno State, along Maiduguri highway



The Islamic State of West Africa Province (ISWAP) have abducted a 50-year-old man, Mohammed Askira, alongside his two brothers who belong to the royal family of Askira Uba Emirate of Borno State, Northeast Nigeria.

Sources said that the trio were kidnapped while travelling to Maiduguri, the Borno State capital after attending a function in Askira Uba town.

The 50-year-old Mohammed Askira and his siblings are all brothers to the present Emir of Askira Uba.

Activities of the ISWAP terrorists have intensified in recent weeks and there are fears it may escalate further following the group’s appointment of Wali Sani Shuwaram, a 45-year-old as the new Leader (Wali) of ISWAP in Lake Chad.

Sources noted that the intensified activities may mean that they are working well with informants who leak information on movements of of not only security personnel but other personalities to the terrorist groups in the axis.
