Nigeria: Soludo poised to win Anambra Governorship election, widens lead as fresh results trickle in

  • Wins 8 of the States 21 LGAs so far declared by INEC

Former Governor of Central bank of Nigeria (CBN), Professor Chukwuma Soludo, who is the candidate of the ruling All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) is poised to win Saturday’s Governorship election as he won in eight of the Local Government Areas of Anambra State in the results so far announced by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

With the results expected from the State’s 21 LGAs, the APGA candidate has cleared out all the results that have been announced so far at LGA Collation Centres and the trend is expected to continue.

The LGAs declared won by Professor Soludo include Orumba South, Orumba North, Njikoka, Awka South, Onitsha South, Aguata, Anaocha, and Anambra East.

Neither the All Progressive Congress (APC) candidate, Andy Uba, nor the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate, Valentine Ozigbo, has won any LGA where results have been declared.

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) would continue the collation of the results Sunday.
