ISWAP terrorists attack Damboa Army Super Camp with 10 gun trucks, one phantom MRAP, GOC 7 Division confirms

  • But said they were swiftly repelled by troops of the Armed Forces of Nigeria

The Acting General Officer Commanding (GOC) 7 Division of the Nigerian Army, Brigadier General Abdulwahab Eyitayo, on Friday afternoon confirmed that Boko Haram/Islamic State of the West African Province (ISWAP) terrorists attacked the Super Camp of the Nigerian Army in Damboa Local Government Area of Borno State, Northeast Nigeria.

But General Eyitayo, who said the terrorists attacked the base with 10 gun trucks and one phantom MRAP on Friday morning, were however swiftly repelled by troops of the Armed Forces of Nigeria and that the terrorists withdraw in disarray through Sandia village.

The GOC said total normalcy has now been restored in the town, as people were going about their normal activities, while exploitation was still ongoing by the Air Task Force to mop up the fleeing terrorists.

Eyitayo added that “Troops are right now driving around Damboa town for a show of force to boost the confidence of the locals.”
