Two policemen shot dead, burnt by terror bandits in Anambra State, Southeast Nigeria

Terror bandits have shot dead and burnt two policemen in Anambra State, South East Nigeria. And a Policeman has been declared missing in the encounter.

Spokesperson, Anambra Police Command, Ikenga Tochukwu, said the incident occurred on Thursday, saying that the policemen were ambushed and killed.

They were travelling with five other officers and three civilians when the incident occurred.

The slain officers were said to have been burnt after being killed by the gunmen suspected to be members of the Eastern Security Network, ESN, the militant wing of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB.

Tochukwu said the other officers were able to fight their way out of the ambush and rescued two of the three civilian drivers.

He added that the gunmen also attacked a rescue team with  improvised explosive devices thrown at police vehicle.
