Boko Haram/ISWAP mortar bombs in Maiduguri, Northeast Nigeria kills 4 children, 6 others

The rain of mortar bombs lobbed into Ngomari, Ayafe, and Bulumkutu areas in Maiduguri, Borno State, Northeast Nigeria by Boko Haram/Islamic State in West Africa Province (ISWAP) terrorists killed 10 civilians including four children.

The bomb attacks, executed ahead of President President Muhammadu Buhari’s visit to the epicentre of terrorists’ violence also razed down buildings and other property.

Following intelligence reports, the Nigerian military troops early Thursday were massively deployed to foil an attack on Maiduguri, the Borno State capital.

Sources said the Boko Haram/ISWAP terrorists bombs was a way to show that it is still in existence and show of force.

The bombs landed in many houses around Ngomari, Bulumkutu and Ayafe close to the Airport as residents waited for the arrival of the President.

But the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) deployed its surveillance aircraft to assist the ground troops forestall any further impending attack by the Boko Haram/ISWAP elements.
