Nigeria: Explosion From Mine Planted By Boko Haram/ISWAP Terrorists Kill 2 Local Security Leaders in Borno State

A land mine planted by elements of the Boko Haram/Islamic State in West Africa Province terrorists have killed a leader and another member of the Civilian Joint Task Force (CJTF) in Borno State, Northeast Nigeria.

The mine explosion incident which took place around Maliya village, Mandaragarau ward in Biu, Biu Local Government Area (LGA) of Borno State, also injured five other persons.

Until his death, Ibrahim Maliya Saidu, the deceased, was the Planning Secretary of CJTF in Biu.

A top CJTF member in the area, Mohammed Aliyu, said the late Maliya was a brave member who battled the terrorists on several occasions.

According to Aliyu, “we received the sad news this afternoon, that one of our finest CJTF members died during an operation. it was a rude shock to everyone. May the soul of departed rest in peace.

“Rest in peace, my brother Ibrahim Maliya Saidu Maliya, alongside other friends of ours, including Docta Suleiman Sykami, who also stepped on explosive devices planted by suspected Boko Haram fighters.”
