Nigeria: Gunmen Kill 3 Police Officers in Ebonyi State

‘Unknown Gunmen’ on Monday night killed three policemen in front of a Police Station along the Enugu-Abakiliki highway, Ebonyi State, Southeast Nigeria.

Sources confirmed that the Policemen had mounted a roadblock in front of the station and were manning it when the gang opened fire on them.

The source said the gunmen were in a hummer bus which the policemen may have mistaken for a commercial vehicle.

“The remains of the three victims have been deposited at a mortuary in Abakaliki after they were confirmed dead by doctors,” he added.

The Police Public Relations Officer, Ebonyi State Command DSP. Loveth Odah, confirmed the incident.

However, Odah said she cannot give details of casualty figures at the moment.
