Fans, RMD Celebrate As Joke Silva, Son Receive Lifetime Award In Honour of Olu Jacobs

It was an emotional moment when veteran Nollywood actress, Joke Silva and her son, Olusoji Jacobs received a lifetime award on behalf of her husband, Olu Jacobs.

I-Represent International Documentary Film Festival on Thursday honoured iconic Nollywood actor, Olu Jabobs with the Lifetime Achievement Award at Freedom Park, Lagos.

Olu Jacobs’ health is fast deteriorating and as such, he has been compelled to stay off the movie scene and public scene.

Silva in an interview with Chude Jideonwo had revealed that her hubby was battling dementia.

She said it is a degenerating disease that has affected his brain and person.

In a post on her Instagram page, the elegant screen icon while sharing a photo from the ceremony wrote: “@mrjacobs_jnr and I receiving the @irepfilmfestival Lifetime Achievement award on behalf of Sir J @_olujacobs . Thank you iRep .The incredible festival is on @freedomparklagos till the 20th of March.”

Olu Jacobs was in Nov 2021 honoured with a Life Time Achievement Award at the Africa International Film Festival (AFRIFF) Globe Awards.

Richard Mofe-Damijo took to social media to announce the news while penning a special tribute to him.

RMD in a post he shared on his Instagram page congratulated Olu Jacobs for a well-deserved lifetime award.

He also expressed his appreciation to Olu Jacobs and his wife Joke Silva for being gracious and a blessing.

“Congratulations my very own uncle J @_olujacobs. A well deserved Life Time Achievement Award. Because of you I’m Pathfinder. I celebrate you and your family this morning.

It is my good fortune that I can call you and my baby Sister @ajokesilva family. Thank you for ever being so gracious to me. Like my people will say, my knees are on the ground for you. It is well with you!” he wrote.
