Gunmen Burn Down Headquarters’ Secretariat Of Governor Soludo’s Local Government Area, Aguata

The rampaging Unknown Gunmen on Thursday set the secretariat of Aguata Local Government Area (LGA) Council on fire.

Anambra State Governor, Professor Chukwuma Soludo is from Isuofia, Aguata LGA.

The burning of the Local Government headquarters secretariat threw the Ekwulobia and Aguluezechukwu communities into confusion as citizens ran for their lives.

The gunmen set ablaze the security house at the main entrance, then the main secretariat building and other structures within the compound. They also set the vehicles within the compound on fire.

This is as there is pandemonium in the sprawling town of Nnewi, Anambra State’s industrial hub as some masked men bearing cutlasses and other arms drove round the town and the adjoining Nnamdi Azikiwe University Teaching Hospital (NAUTH) areas on motorcycles, warning people to stay at home.

The lockdown is in observance to court appearance by the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnnamdi Kanu at the Federal High Court Abuja to continue his trial.
