Breaking News: Peter Obi Set To Dump PDP, Yields To Pressure From Supporters

  • Expected to announce details of his move Thursday

Frontline Presidential aspirant of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and former Governor of Anambra State, Mr. Peter Obi is set to dump the main opposition party.

Obi is among the 15 Presidential aspirants due to contest for the party’s ticket on Saturday.

Global Upfront Newspapers (GUN) gathered exclusively that Obi will be announcing his next move by tomorrow Thursday (May 26, 2022) as PDP is already history for him.

The source confirmed that Obi has decided to listen to his supporters who are angry at the gang up against him in the party and has agreed to turn his back on PDP.

A contact with the Obi campaign train said: ‘Don’t jump the gun. Just wait and see.’

Easily the most popular Presidential aspirant in Nigeria today especially among the youths across all the six geopolitical regions of the country, Obi has been under severe pressure from his numerous followers to leave PDP and ensure that he puts his name in the 2023 Presidential ballot.

According to his supporters, the way PDP is structured cannot give way for a credible candidate like Obi to emerge their flag bearer.

Obi supporters believe they can never give him chance even when it’s obvious he is the best in the bloc.
