Show Promoter Fails To Pay Davido In Italy, But He Still Performed To Fans’ Delight

Davido, a popular Nigerian singer, has claimed that the promoter of the Havoccity Afro Festival in Italy failed to honor their agreement on payment.

The Nigerian singer announced the situation via a statement he issued on his verified Twitter account.

Though Davido didn’t specifically reveal the title of the show and the name of the promoter, he had earlier shared the news of the festival in Italy.

In the statement issued on Sunday morning, Davido lamented that the promoter took his hard work for granted.

“According to him: We overwork our bodies, blood sweats, and tears daily to keep up and deliver these shows for our fans, only for people to take our craft and hard work for granted.

“I fly private 90% of the time but for logistics issues, we couldn’t get a landing permit on time. So I even decided to take almost three connecting flights to get here. We get here and the promoter did not keep up to his own part of the agreement, he sold thousands of tickets but doesn’t want to pay me. Normally it’s no balance no show. I’ve been ready at the hotel for the past 4 hours waiting. I’m for either cash or wire – still nothing. I know many people used their last to see me so because of that I will do the show.”
