Abuja Court Grants Okorocha N500 Million Bail, May Attend APC Convention

A Federal High Court in Abuja on Tuesday granted bail at N500million to former Governor of Imo State, Senator Rochas Okorocha.

Justice Inyang Ekwo, in a ruling rejected the objection of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) to Okorocha’s bail application.

Justice Ekwo therefore ordered Okorocha to provide a surety, who will sign and of the same amount.

The judge also granted bail to Okorocha’s co-defendant, Anyim Nyerere Chinenye on the conditions attached to the administrative bail earlier granted him by the EFCC.

Trial is to commence on November 7.

If Okorocha meets the bail the bail conditions, he will attend the All Progressive Congress (APC) Presidential primary election which was scheduled for June 6-8, 2022.

He was a Presidential aspirant under the party before his arrest by the anti-graft agency.
