Faced with the citizens revolting against the recurring sit-at-home every Monday, hoodlums operating under the guise of ‘Unknown Gunmen’ in Anambra and Imo States have threatened to unleash violence to enforce adherence.
The hoodlums specifically said: “What happened in (Owo) Ondo on Sunday will be a child’s play in weeks to come in this States.”
Last Sunday, terrorists invaded the St Francis Catholic Church, Owo, Ondo State while the service was going on and with explosives, guns and knives, massacred over 50 people including women and children.
The Unknown Gunmen listed places targeted to be visiting to unleash the massacre if total adherence was not followed include churches, schools, burial and traditional marriage ceremonies in Anambra and Imo States.
The hoodlums has sent a text message to an online media in Anambra State on Monday, saying: “Soludo and Uzodinma wait for us!
“We cannot fold our hands when our leader is out there in prison!
“The Governors of Anambra, Chukwuma Soludo and Hope Uzodinma of Imo state should wait for us.
“Since they are looking for unknown gunmen, we are here for them. What happened in Ondo on Sunday will be a child’s play in weeks to come in this States.
“We have warned before and this is the last warning. Bring your security men to wait for us The sit-at-home must continue and we don’t care what any idiot is saying.
“We are determined in making sure Onyendu is free. We will start visiting churches, school, burials and traditional marriages in this state and we are not joking.
“Obey us or you have yourself to blame. We are freedom fighters in Biafra land. last warning.”
Meanwhile, the State Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), DSP Tochukwu Ikenga, said the Command was not aware of the message.
He said the Command was not relenting in making sure that the criminal elements were not allowed to operate in Anambra State.
According to him, the Command would continue to raid areas discovered to be the hideouts of the criminal elements who want to make the State ungovernable.
