2022 Nigerian Army Day Celebration Holds In Owerri, Imo State, Residents Asked Not To Panic Over Increased Movement Of Troops And Equipment

The 2022 Army Day Celebration (NADCEL) will hold in the Imo State capital, Owerri. It is scheduled to hold from June 29 to July 6.

Director, Army Public Relations, Brigadier General Onyema Nwachukwu, said in a statement that the celebrations will witness an increased movement of troops and military equipment into the State, advising residents not to panic but to remain calm and peacefully go about their normal activities.

General Nwachukwu explained that the Nigerian Army Day Celebration is an annual event aimed at showcasing the commitment of the Nigerian Army over the years, as a professional responsive force.

According to him, “the theme for this year’s NADCEL is: ‘Repositioning the Nigerian Army in the Joint Operations Environment: A Panacea for Success in Addressing Contemporary Security Challenges’.

“Activities lined up for the weeklong event include the Chief of Army Staff Press Briefing, Jumaat prayers, Inter-denominational church service, commissioning of Civil-Military Cooperations cum Quick Impact Projects, NADCEL Lecture, Chief of Army Staff Commendation Awards and parade among others.“
