With Looming Terrorists’ Takeover Of Abuja, Impeachment Threats, Buhari Again Summons Emergency National Security Council Meeting Thursday

President Muhammadu Buhari has again summoned the Chief of Defence Staff, Service Chiefs and other heads of security agencies for an emergency meeting on Thursday over the looming terrorists’ takeover of Abuja and the the insecurity nationwide.

The meeting is coming against the backdrop of the ambush and killing of two officers and eight soldiers of the elite Presidential Brigade of Guards on Sunday night by terrorists and the threat of impeachment by the Senate on President Buhari over lingering insecurity.

Buhari’s Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Femi Adesina, confirmed the meeting on Wednesday evening during an interview on Channels Television’s Politics Today.

“Tomorrow the President has summoned another security meeting with the heads of the security agencies,” Adesina said.

Senators from the opposition parties (Peoples Democratic Party – (PDP), All Progressive Grand Alliance – (APGA), Labour Party and even the ruling All Progressive Congress -APC) have issued Buhari a six-week ultimatum to tackle the security challenges bedeviling the country of face impeachment proceedings.

The Senate minority leader, Senator Philip Aduda, flanked by other lawmakers at a press briefing today, demanded that Buhari resolves terrorist attacks in the country or be impeached.
