Duro Onabule, Veteran journalist, Former Spokesperson To General Babangida Dies At 83

Veteran journalist and former Chief Press Secretary to ex-Military President, Ibrahim Babangida, Duro Onabule, is dead.

The former Presidential Spokesperson died at 83 on Tuesday. As of the time of this report, the cause of his death is unknown.

The journalist was born in Ijebu-Ode, Ogun state, on September 27, 1939. He attended CMS Grammar School and School of Journalism, London.

He worked as a reporter for the Daily Express in 1961 before he joined the Daily Sketch and returned to Daily Express.

In 1969, he served as the London correspondent of the Express. In the mid-1970s, he worked for the Daily Times, rising to become a deputy editor.
