Bloody: Four Soldiers, Two Others Gunned Down In Umunze, Anambra State By ‘Uknown Gunmen’

It was a bloody Wednesday in Anambra State as ‘Unknown Gunmen’ killed four soldiers and two others at Umunze, Orumba North Local Government Area (LGA) of the State.

Sources said that the soldiers were killed during a gun duel with the gunmen within the Nkwo Market area on the road leading to Nkwelle Ezukala.

This threw confusion in the Nkwo Umunze Bank Lane road housing many both Access and Zenith banks.

A source noted that the soldiers were gunned down along with their ‘errand boy’ in the area who is identified as MTN.

They were travelling in a Nigerian Army jeep with siren and marked boldly ‘ARMY’ on the back of the windscreen. The bodies of the soldiers were scattered inside the vehicle, under the gutter and the roadside.

The gunning down of the soldiers and other citizens were captured in viral video too gruesome to show.

The killing came hours after the leader of the ‘Autopilot’ group of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Simon Ekpa announced on Twitter in his handle @simon_ekpa that “When i will start, it will be bl**dy, don’t let me look at you enemies within, this boundary you want to cross over will be very bl**dy. i am focused on Nigeria at the moment. A big statement is coming soon maybe then you will know we are not mate. Wotowoto to the enemies

“We are in the season of wotowoto for the freedom of Biafra, we will continue to increase the volume every morning & everyday. The ban on siren in Biafra territory is permanent.”

Umunze, which is the location of Federal College of Education (Technical), is also the headquarters of Orumba South LGA of the State.

Well known for their Nkpokiti  Atilogwu cultural dance, Umunze shares boundary with Ideato North LGA in Imo State and Isuochi in Abia State and Umuchu in Aguata LGA.
