Obi-Datti Campaign Disowns “Vote-for-cash” Solicitation On Social Media, Says “It Is Not Authorized By Us”

The Labour Party Presidential Campaign Organization has disowned the “vote-for-cash” solicitation on social media being organised by one Jude Adoye.

Under the discredited “vote-for-cash” scheme, there were categories of payment to be made to students, businessmen and women and farmers.

But in a statement on Sunday, Oseloka Henry Obaze, Deputy Director General/Campaign Manager of the Obi-Datti Campaign Organisation, said that the “vote-for-cash” solicitation “is not from us and is not authorized by us.”

The full statement reads: “The attention of the Labour Party Presidential Campaign Organization has been drawn to the below “vote-for-cash” solicitation on social media.

“FREE MONEY FOR PEOPLE THAT WILL VOTE FOR LABOUR PARTY. DROP YOUR PHONE NUMBER AND ACCOUNT NUMBER
STUDENT 100,000
BUSINESS 150,000
FARMER 200,000
CONTACT MR JUDE ADOYE FOR PAYMENT (09167865431) VOTE FOR PETER OBI

“The campaign organization disowns this “pay-for-vote” ploy.

“It is not from us and is not authorized by us.

“We are a responsible organization committed to rooting out corruption and entrenching decency and transparency in the public and private of Nigerians and thus cannot engage in such unseemly action.

“The Nigerian public is by this notice advised to disregard this caper as it will tarnish the electoral process and call to question the unimpeachable integrity of our presidential and vice presidential candidates.”
