Abuja Court Sacks Chijioke Edeoga As Enugu Labour Party Governorship Candidate, Orders New Primary Election

A Federal High Court in Abuja has sacked Chijioke Edeoga as the Governorship candidate of the Labour Party (LP) for Enugu State.

Justice Evelyn Maha who dismissed the primary election ordered the party to conduct a fresh primary election within 14 days.

Evarest Nnaji, popularly referred to as Odengene, had approached the Abuja court to challenge the May primary election that produced Chijioke Edoga as the party’s candidate.

The duo were members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) but defected earlier in the year to battle for the LP ticket for the forthcoming governorship elections.
