Anambra State: Ekwulobia Urban Mass Transit CEO Dies, One Week After Release From Kidnappers Den

The Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Ekwulobia Urban Mass Transport Company Limited, Chief Innocent Ezeokafor (Ononenyi), is dead.

The Ekwulobia Urban Mass Transport Company Limited is the major transport company with headquarters at Ekwulobia, Aguata Local Government Area of Anambra State.

Chief Ezeokafor died on Saturday at the Nnamdi Azikiwe University Teaching Hospital Nnewi, barely one week after his release by kidnappers who abducted him on the evening of October 19, 2022.

Ezeokafor was released after almost 18 days in captivity.

However, sources said that his health condition worsened during his days of captivity due to lack of medical attention.

A source at the Ekwulobia Urban Mass Transit Company said that on Saturday evening, he developed some health complications and was rushed to the Nnewi Teaching Hospital where he died.
