Tinubu In Abakaliki, Says I’ll Negotiate With IPOB, Other Agitators

The Presidential Candidate of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, says if voted into power, his administration would negotiate with agitators, including the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB).

IPOB, an outlawed group, has been blamed for the restlessness in the South East, where it declared weekly sit-at-home.

Speaking in Abakaliki, Ebonyi State capital, during the APC Presidential campaign in the State on Thursday, Tinubu said, “We want peace. We will talk to all the agitators. This thing is not done by conflicts.”

He said he would continue the reformation of the transport system, especially the railway sector, embarked upon by the present administration.

The former Lagos State Governor said the reform would provide a railway from Calabar to the South East.He also promised to advance the education sector and electricity for betterment of Nigerians.

“There is no dual carriageway from Ebonyi to Enugu. I am happy that I am part of you. Also, transportation is a must for economic resuscitation and progress. We will embark on a railway line even though they keep stealing the infrastructure”, he said

Earlier, the host Governor, David Umahi, said the State and the South East region had benefited from the President Muhammadu Buhari-led administration.

“So, we are obidient to APC,” he added.
