10 ISWAP Terrorists Who Escaped Boko Haram Attack Surrender In Niger Republic

Ten members of the Islamic State of West African Province (ISWAP), who escaped the Boko Haram attack in  Kayowa and Toumbun Gini, in the North East of the Lake Chad Basin have surrendered to the authorities in Tumour in the Republic of Niger.

Intelligence sources told Zagazola Makama, a Counter Insurgency Expert and Security Analysts in Lake Chad, that the ISWAP militants, surrendered on  January 10, 2022, due to the fear of battlefield elimination following intensified rival attacks.

The attack on the bases of the ISWAP by the Boko Haram had caused the death of scores of fighters since  December 31, and  January 8, 2023.

The sustained onslaught led by the Boko Haram Leader, ABU UMAIMAH also known as  BAKOURA DORO, has led to the destruction of the strategic bases of the terrorists in Toumbum Allura,  Kurnawa, Kayowa and Toumbun Gini, forcing Abu Moussab al-Barnawi and other Commanders to fled.

The continued rivalry clash between JAS and ISWAP seems unending as several efforts by the groups to join forces against the Nigerian military and MNJTF appears impossible.

It is against this backdrop that ISWAP are desperately seeking support of foreign ISIS mercenaries from Mali, Burkina Faso and Somalia to help them defeat the JAS.

Zagazola understand that Albarnawwy returned to the Lake-Chad on January 10 in company of 300 Militants fighters to announce a major onslaught against the Jamā’at Ahl as-Sunnah lid-Da’wah wa’l-Jihād terrorists groups.

While the development has influenced military operations positively, Operation Hadin Kai could leverage on the clashes to sustain its operation to finally decimate terrorists’ activities in the region.
