Peter Obi In Massive Victory In Imo, Defeats Atiku, Tinubu In Okowa’s Home State Of Delta

The Labour Party’s presidential candidate, Peter Obi has won Saturday’s presidential election in Imo State by a wide margin.

The returning officer for the state, Charles Esimone, announced Obi as winners in Owerri on Tuesday, having polled the highest number of votes.

The Labour Party’s presidential candidate polled 352,904 votes to claim Imo, while Asiwaju Bola Tinubu of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Asiwaju Bola Tinubu came a distant second, scoring 66, 171 votes.

Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), got 30,044 votes to emerge third, while Rabiu Kwankwaso of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) scored 1,536 votes.

This is just as INEC on Tuesday declared Obi as the winner of last Saturday’s presidential election held in Delta State.

Obi was announced as the winner by the Delta State Presidential Election Collation Officer (SCOPE), Prof. Owunari Abraham Georgewill, at the collation centre in INEC State Head Office in Asaba.

Georgewill from the University of Port-Harcourt, Rivers State, announced the results after the collation of results from the 25 local government councils in the state.

He said LP candidate, Peter Obi, polled 341,866 votes to defeat his major river, Alhaji Atiku Abubarkar, whose running mate, Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa, is the governor of Delta.
