Desperate Single Mother Sells Her Unborn Children For Survival In Anambra State

A desperate single mother of two, Ruth Ogbonaya, aged 32, who hails from Awgu Local Government Area in Enugu State has confessed to selling two of her unborn children to needy barren or singles to survive.

In an exclusive chat with a Correspondent  of Global UpFront Newspapers (GUN) at the weekend, Ruth said: “I sold my first child, a baby boy for 1.2M and I quickly relocated my children to Ghana for studies.”

When asked how she got buyers by herself, she narrated that when she realise her pregnancy was two months old, she looked out for family who ve been married with no kids.

“I then pretend to help in doing house chores and lure them into her intention to sell off her unborn child as she has two already. And I’ll tell them I don’t  want to go for an abortion.

“Agreement ll be embarked, a scan will take place to know the sex of the child.

“I’ll start with N2M for a baby boy and will end up at N1.2M. Six hundred thousand Naira (N600,000) will be given to me as a deposit. And after the delivery of the baby, my balance ll be given to me and I’ll relocate to another State to start life afresh.

‘My first location was Port Harcourt (Rivers State). And my second location is Abuja where I sold my baby girl at N1M.

“I am buoyant now in my palm oil and foodstuff businesses. My children 8 and 10 years old are doing well in their studies in Ghana.

“I come to Anambra State to buy palm oil and take it to Ghana for storage to sell later when the prices go up.”

When asked if she knows that government could decide to come after her, she said: “My life is not owned by the Government. Where were they when I was looking out for a means to take care of my children?”

Ruth added: “I could not be a prostitute. Rather, I sell my unborn babies to women who are barren or single mothers. I ve no regret hence I’ve my two children with me, a boy and a girl.”
