Bandits Abduct Chief, 2 Others In Abuja

Bandits have abducted the Village Head of Ketti in Abuja Municipal Area Council (AMAC) of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Mr Sunday Zakwoyi, one of his aides, Markus Gade, and another resident.

The District Head of Ketti, Alex Akata, said the incident happened in the early hours of Friday when the bandits who came in large numbers invaded the Chief’s house.

According to Akata: “They came in their large numbers and divided themselves into groups before they forced the gate of the house open, went straight to the Chief’s room and whisked him alongside one of his aides away.

“But before going away with the Chief and his aide, the kidnappers proceeded to a neighbour’s house and whisked away a resident amid gunshots.

“Just three weeks ago, another set of bandits invaded Ketti and abducted residents. They are still in captivity.”

He, therefore, appealed to relevant security agencies to step up actions to rescue the victims, saying other residents of the community were no longer sleeping in peace.

As usual, Spokesperson of the FCT Police Command, DSP Adeh Josephine, was yet to confirm the incident.
