Nigerian Army Cancels Special Promotions For Soldiers

The Nigerian Army has withdrawn the Special Promotions recently granted five soldiers.

In withdrawing the promotions, the Army said “the soldiers are not qualified as spelt out in the NA Administrative Policies and Procedures Revised March 2023.”

According to a letter from Nigerian Army Headquarters Department of Personnel Management, Giri Abuja dated June 27, 2023 the five affected soldiers include 00NA/49/322 Sgt Adebayo Moses, 10NA/65/6686 Cpl Tengi Kuroekigha, 11NA/66/11099/ Cpl Abubakar Ibrahim, 12NA/67/2361/ Cpl Arome Emmanuel and 12NA/68/7306F Cpl Anyanwu Joy.

The letter, signed by Brigadier General OA Oyelade on behalf of the Chief of Army Staff (COAS) stated: “The approval of Special Promotion in respect of the above soldiers amongst others was conveyed via reference A (AHQ DPMGI/300/92 dated June 23, 2023).

“It was observed however, that the soldiers are not qualified as spelt out in the NA Administrative Policies and Procedures Revised March 2023.

“Consequently, I am directed to withdraw the promotion of the affected soldiers immediately.”
