Tinubu Appoints 48th Ministerial Nominee, Revokes Maryam Shetty’s Appointment, Picks Festus Keyamo, Mariga Mahmud

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has nominated an unprecedented 48th Ministerial nominee, submits former Minister of State for Labour and Employment, Mr Festus Keyamo as Minister.

The President also withdrew the Ministerial nomination of Maryam Shetty from Kano State and replaced her with Dr Mairiga Mahmud.

Tinubu announced this is a letter addressed to Senate President Godswill Akpabio and read during plenary on Friday.

Already, Tinubu has appointed a total of 47 Ministerial nominees with the South East having the least of only five, South South (7), North Central (8), North East (8), South West (9) and North West (10).

With the appointment of Keyamo, South South now has eight slots while South East, which gave Tinubu its 1.5% of votes in the February 25, 2023 Presidential election having a distant of five slots.
