The incident was unfortunate in light of the renewed efforts at curbing the activities of bandits, terrorists, and other non-state actors across the country through the deployment of air power by the Nigerian Airforce.

The House of Representatives sympathizes with the officers and Airmen of the Nigerian Airforce over this incident and salutes the bravery of those that lost their lives in active service to the country.

Our heartfelt condolences also go to the families and relatives of the fallen heroes and wish to assure of the support of the House of Representatives where necessary.

The Nigerian Airforce has displayed professionalism in recent times with the deployment of superior airpower in its counter-insurgency operations across the country to curb the menace posed by Boko Haram insurgents and other criminal elements.

This incident is a national tragedy, and the House of Representatives shares in the pains that have resulted, therefore. The call to service is a duty we all owe our great country as we march toward the country of our dreams.

The sacrifices of those whose life have been cut short shall not be in vain, as all efforts towards sustaining the tempo shall be advocated in ways and means necessary.

The Nigeria Airforce has stayed professional in its operations, and we urge members of the general public to continue to extend their support, especially in this critical period of our existence as a people and a country.

These are trying times, and it behoves all well-meaning citizens to see this tragedy as a greater call to action. Nigeria shall defeat its adversaries when we stay united in pursuing a common goal.
