Russia-Ukraine War: Ukrainian Defence Minister ‘To Be Sacked’ Over Corruption

Ukraine’s Defence Minister, Oleksii Reznikov, is “to be sacked” over corruption scandal.

Ukrainska Pravada (UP) quotes sources inside Volodymyr Zelenskyy’s cabinet, who say Mr Reznikov will be sacked after he was found to have been involved in corruption.

An investigation by Dzerkalo Tyzhnia published earlier this month said that the Defence Ministry had signed a contract with a Turkish company in September 2022 for the purchase of $33 million worth of winter clothes for the military, which were, in fact, summer clothes.

The investigation found evidence of price-tampering, with some jackets worth around $29 listed for up to $86 on some documents.
